The Dropbox team recently announced that it updated the Dropbox app for iPhone and iPad to version 3.0.

The updated Dropbox app comes with a refreshed design, a new visual experience inspired by iOS 7.

iOS 7, which was rolled out to the public this September, comes with more than 200 new features, chief among them being a refreshed interface. The new UI features an elegant color palette, refined typography, functional layers to make it feel more alive, translucency and subtle motion to make performing tasks more engaging. It is a completely redesigned interface that remains familiar and very easy to use.

iOS 7 isn’t the only one who got a design refresh – the Dropbox app for iOS got one as well. Inspired by the new interface iOS 7 has to offer, the Dropbox team came up with a refreshed interface for its iPhone and iPad app. Dropbox 3.0, which was recently rolled out to the App Store, features this refreshed interface.

“We considered every aspect of the app, took the time to make sure we did a thorough job, and simplified a whole bunch of stuff,” explained Tim Van Damme, who left Instagram to join the Dropbox design team this summer.

“The new Dropbox app is a bit like a new beginning for Dropbox on iOS. While many things will feel familiar, we hope you’ll notice the small tweaks that make a pretty big difference. And maybe best of all, it sets the stage for some exciting things to come,” Tim added.

Besides a refreshed interface, Dropbox 3.0 for iPhone and iPad has a few other new bits and pieces to offer: improved sharing and exporting, AirDrop support, save videos to your library, faster launch, faster photo loading, faster video playback, PDF viewing updates, multiple bug fixes.

You can get the latest Dropbox version straight from Apple’s App Store.
