Yahoo! was glad to announce that the cloud storage and file synchronization service Dropbox has been integrated into the company's mail service, Yahoo! Mail.

With the aim of making Yahoo! Mail an easier to use and a more helpful service, Yahoo! entered a partnership with Dropbox. As part of this partnership, Dropbox functionality has been added to Yahoo! Mail, thus making it easier to send, receive and manage attachments in Yahoo! Mail.

“Starting today, Dropbox is available within Yahoo! Mail,” announced Yahoo! on Tuesday, April 2, 2013. “This integration allows you to share and store files more easily, whether they are vacation photos or important documents like tax returns and research papers. And, because files can be stored in your Dropbox account online, it's easy to find the files you want even when you are away from your desktop.”

Here’s a quick look at the benefits Dropbox integration brings to Yahoo! Mail.

Save attachments to Dropbox
There are two options for saving attachments: Save to my computer and Save to Dropbox. You can save attachments to the default Yahoo! Mail folder within Dropbox; alternatively, you can create a new folder to save the attachments.

Attach files from Dropbox
Files from Dropbox can be attached to emails. To access this feature you must select the dropdown next to the paperclip icon in Yahoo! Mail and then select “share from Dropbox.”

Send large files with Dropbox
Drag and drop an attachement into your email and it will be sent through Dropbox. The nice thing about this feature is that you don’t have to obey the 25Mb limit; you can attach files larger than that.

The Dropbox functionality presented above is available globally in Yahoo! Mail for Web in English, French, German, Italian and Spanish.
