Discover Shiretoko, Download Firefox 3.5 RC3
The Mozilla Foundation has rolled out a third version of the next iteration of its web browser, Firefox 3.5 codename Shiretoko. And speaking of the browser’s codename, Mozilla Japan has pulled the covers off the Discover Shiretoko campaign for the whole world to see. The campaign is focused on Shiretoko, the world natural heritage site in Japan, and how it relates to Firefox.
Mozilla’s Melissa Shapiro comments: “Discover Shiretoko was born as a collaborative project between Japan’s Shiretoko Foundation and Mozilla Japan. Shiretoko is a national park in Northern Japan - it is also the codename for the latest version of Firefox. The campaign is designed to help more people learn about Shiretoko national park and the newest version of Firefox.”
To show your support for the Discover Shiretoko campaign, you can get the tree web banner that Mozilla has made available and grow a virtual Shiretoko forest. The banner, which you can place on your blog or site, depicts a virtual tree that grows as more visitors come visit your blog/site. There are three tree types to choose from, and since they are all drawn dynamically, you can rest assured that your tree banner will be unique. Additional details on how you can participate in the Discover Shiretoko banner campaign are available here.

Moving on, the Mozilla Foundation has released a third version of the Firefox 3.5 browser. Firefox 3.5 RC3 follows in the steps of Firefox 3.5 RC1, an early build that was delivered to Beta testers only, and Firefox 3.5 RC2, the first RC version to become publicly available. Firefox 3.5 RC3 can be downloaded directly from Mozilla (make sure to get your localized version as Firefox provides extensive language support) or you can get it as an update if you have Firefox 3.5 RC2 installed on your machine.
Firefox 3.5 RC3 is available for download straight from Mozilla here. And don't forget to watch Mike Beltzner's presentation of the new features in Firefox 3.5 here .
