Immensely popular social networking site Facebook recently introduced a new product called Trending.

Lots of content is available on Facebook: conversations, photos, new stories, and so on. The new Trending product will help you discover the most interesting content available on the social network.

Lots of content can be accessed via Facebook: updates from friends, photos from family members, conversations about hot topics, news from our favorite artists, and more. Facebook is becoming the go-to-place for accessing news, updates, conversations, and other interesting content.

Speaking about that, Facebook recently introduced a new product that will help you more easily access interesting content. The new product in question is called Trending and will help you discover the best content from all across Facebook. It presents a personalized list of interesting content.

Trending, which is currently being rolled out in select countries, is displayed on the right hand side on your News Feed. As mentioned above, Trending presents a personalized list of interesting content. The list is personalized based on your interests and based on the hottest topics on Facebook.

“To the right of your News Feed, you'll see a list of topics that have recently spiked in popularity. The list is personalized, including topics based on things you’re interested in and what is trending across Facebook overall. Each topic is accompanied by a headline that briefly explains why it is trending. You can click on any headline to see the most interesting posts from your friends or Pages that are talking about that particular topic,” explained Chris Struhar, Engineering Manager.

While Facebook introduced Trending, Google introduced a smart contact lens project that aims to help people with diabetes. The smart contact lens measure glucose levels in tears; when it detects dangerous high or dangerously low levels, it can notify the user. Read more about this topic here.
