The development team behind Digsby, the multiprotocol instant messaging application that comes with support for popular IM clients such as AIM, MSN, Yahoo, Google Talk, ICQ, Jabber, and Facebook Chat, has announced the release of Digsby Build 60. This public Beta release brings a whole list of new features, amongst them we couldn’t but notice the fact that with Build 60, Digsby reduces CPU usage by 50%.

“We just pushed a new release (Build 60, r22564) to all users! We have gone through several alpha releases since our last major update so there are are quite a few changes. This release includes all the features, bug fixes and enhancements in ALPHA Builds 53 – 60. This release was a blend of fixes and new features. We will continue to focus on rounding out the feature set in the near term so let us know what you’d like to see! This update is pretty large so the auto-update may take some time to download or it may take a few restarts for it to kick in,” explained the Digsby Team.

Here are the new features and enhancements you can expect with Digsby Build 60:
- Enhanced performance, meaning that Digsby reduces CPU usage by 50%.
- The option to search through your Buddy List by pressing Ctrl + F.
- Four new emoticon packs have been added.
- File transfer reliability for AIM, ICQ, and MSN has been improved.
- Instead of having the conversation window popup, there is an option that gets new IM windows to start hidden and blink the tray icon.
- There is a new Infobox that uses same UI control as the IM window.
- Added support for Retweet.
- You can set your status on MySpace.
- Support for the invisible GTalk status has been added.
- Over 100 bugs have been fixed.
