Following the release of Deep Zoom Composer for Silverlight 2.0 June Preview and the release of Deep Zoom Composer for Silverlight 3.0 RTW Preview Release, its with great pleasure that we announce the fact that the Microsoft developed image preparation tool has been released as a final, stable version.

“We have released the first final version of Deep Zoom Composer. As always, please uninstall all existing versions of Deep Zoom Composer before installing the new version. This release pulls together a lot of the ideas that we had been previewing to you in bits and pieces for the past releases – some for over a year,” explained the Expression Blend and Design team.

Deep Zoom Composer highlights:
- You can easily create interactive deep zoom experiences that go beyond simply zooming in and out. And you can do it all without having to write a single line of code.
- Enhanced support for analytics tracking.
- The DeepZoomPix Player has been improved.
- It is now easier to edit your Deep Zoom composition in Expression Blend and Visual Studio. The list of default list of templates, based on user feedback of course, has been enlarged to include more templates that contain source files.
- The user interface has been tweaked.
- Support for the Smooth Streaming extension has been added.
- Online documentation has been released (see here).

Recommended system requirements for running Deep Zoom Composer
Operating System: XP SP2, Windows Vista, Windows 7.
Processor: 2GHz Intel Pentium or AMD.
RAM: 1GB
Graphics: Microsoft® DirectX® 9.0–capable video card with 256 MB or more of memory.

About Deep Zoom Composer
Since Silverlight 2.0 was launched, Microsoft added a new feature to Silverlight 2.0 called Deep Zoom. This Seadragon implementation is used to seamlessly browse through large image collections and zoom in/out high resolution images in a speedy and uninterrupted manner. Deep Zoom Composer is nothing more than a tool one can use to prepare content that will be used with the Deep Zoom Feature in Silverlight.
