Great news for Turkish Android users who are on a fixed data plan: Opera Software made its free data-savings app, Opera Max, available in Turkey. Thanks to Opera Max, you can surf twice as much on your existing data plan. That’s because Opera Max extends the life of data plans by up to 50%.

“Once a user installs Opera Max, the app starts rerouting all data traffic on the mobile device to the Opera data-savings cloud, using a virtual private network (VPN). All non-encrypted data requests (excluding websites and apps with HTTPS connections) are sent through Opera’s servers, which compress video, images and websites to use less data,” explained Opera Software in a press release.

When you have a limited data plan, you try to use as little as possible. The goal is to do your surfing, get things done online, and try to stretch things out until the end of the month. It is an annoying situation, I know! I too have to make sure I don’t exceed my data plan and get charged extra.

Opera Software has a solution for this annoying situation: Opera Max. This is a free, data-savings app for Android that can extend the life of your data plan by up to 50%. You see, Opera Max uses unique compression technology to compress text, images, and videos so that you use less of your data plan.

“It’s all about video these days, and video makes up a big chunk of data usage, all of which ultimately costs users money,” says Sergey Lossev, Head of Opera Max at Opera Software. “Opera Max’s compression technology makes videos lighter, so users can watch more video and get faster loading times, without higher costs.”

Android users in Turkey can now enjoy the wonderful functionality Opera Max has to offer. Opera Software announced today that Opera Max is available in Turkey.

Opera Max is available for download on Google Play.
