Customize Your Firefox: Minimize to System Tray, Close All Related Tabs, Remove Next
For all the Mozilla Firefox fans out there that like to customize, tweak and improve their browser experience, we have three software applications to present today, and each of them will help you be more efficient and more productive – or at least remove some of the more annoying parts of online surfing.
Whenever you minimize the Firefox window, it will annoyingly remain in the taskbar instead swiftly hiding away in other part of the screen. With MinimizeToTray, an add-on for Firefox 3.0, you will have a clutter-free taskbar because it sends the Firefox tab to the system tray. MinimizeToTray can perform three simple tasks: Always minimize to the tray instead of the taskbar; Minimize to the tray on close; Require a double click to restore from the tray. People that are fans on minimizing applications anywhere else but the taskbar might want to check out Minime.
Let’s say that you have opened several tabs in your Firefox browser (keyboard shortcuts here) and some of them are from a particular web page. Now you want to close only the tabs from the aforementioned web page in a simple and efficient manner, not by scrolling through all the tabs. You will need a Firefox add-on called TabCloser for this job – install it, click “Close all X tabs” and click “Are you sure?”
Lat but not least, I present to you AutoPager, a Firefox add-on that will save you the trouble of always having to click “Next”. Let’s say for example that you entered a search query into Google; the browser will display the first 10 search results on the first page, the following 10 results on the second page, and so on as long as you keep clicking “Next”. AutoPager will automatically load the next page, so you can focus on your browsing.
If you would like to get MinimizeToTray, a download location is available here.
