Craigsphone: iPhone gets Craigslist App

Craigslist, the web page that specializes in providing classified ads services, has recently been ported to the iPhone thanks to a new app called Craigsphone. The great thing about Craigslist is that it gives you a means of finding whatever you are looking for, regardless if you are looking for electronics or exotic furniture – Craigsphone promises to stay true to these origins and not spoil Craigslist’s popular online classified service.

The company responsible for the development of Craigsphone is Next Mobile Web. For the time being the app cannot be downloaded from Apple’s App Store.

Next Mobile Web explains: “Craigsphone is not yet showing up in searches in the App Store. It should be there soon but in the meantime please download here and then sync your iPhone. Alternatively you can visit this link from your phone: Craigsphone-dot-com”. Please note that I’ve taken the liberty of spoofing the link address, for security reasons of course.

So what are you supposed to expect from the Craigsphone iPhone app? Here is a quick list: browse Craigslist posts that interest you, post listings directly from your iPhone, upload photos, and share your location. There is even a feature that lest you browse postings according to your current location; this feature is called Nearby and is supposed to link you with postings from your immediate vicinity – the downside is that it only works in Manhattan and the San Francisco Bay Area.

In related iPhone apps news, it must be said that the guys from Wunderkind Group LLC have recently released an app that takes advantage of the device’s built in vibrating motor in order to provide a soothing massage. Although it is not meant to replace an LMT (Licensed Massage Therapist), it will come in handy when you need to remove that annoying kink in your neck.
