Security company AVG Technologies recently introduced AVG Web TuneUp, a new tool that cleans and tunes your web browser for safer surfing.

AVG Web TuneUp works with Google’s Chrome and Mozilla’s Firefox web browser, on machines powered by Windows XP, Vista, or 9. It is a browser add-on that helps protect and optimise your web experience.

Earlier this week security company AVG Technologies announced that it has a new tool to offer: AVG Web TuneUp. This new tool is a browsr add-on that puts the emphasis on security and privacy. It protects users while they surf the web, it enables them to control their online privacy, and it removes junk files that weight down the browser and pose a privacy risk.

“The Web today is filled with websites that contain hidden threats or cookies that track your online activity,” said Andrew Reid, General Manager, Platform, AVG Technologies. “AVG Web TuneUp allows you to take back control of your privacy so that you only share data with organizations you trust.” “Performance of web browsers is also critical to consumers,” added Reid. “Speed and ease of use enable you to reach your online destination more quickly with the knowledge that your digital safety will not be compromised.”

AVG Web TuneUp – Main Features
  • Site Safety – this feature protects you from dangerous and infected websites. It tells you if sites are not safe, if they are a danger to your identity, personal info, and PC.
  • Browser Cleaner – with one click you can remove several elements: cookies, browsing history, download history, saved forms.
  • Do No Track – this feature shows you which websites collect data about your online activities. The feature lets you block ad network tracking, social network tracking and web analytics.
AVG Web TuneUp is a free browser add-on. At this time it is available for Chrome and Firefox on Windows Xp, Vista, or 7. You can get it straight from the developer here.
