Check Out the Waterdrops Theme by J.P. Peter
Jan Peter Peter, who is a member of Microsoft’s Bing Maps team, is also a very talented photographer. His skills with the camera are obvious in a recently released theme for Windows 7, the appropriately named Waterdrops theme by J.P.P.
The theme, as its name so adequately points out, is a collection of images that display raindrops. There are a grand total of 11 top quality images included in the Waterdrops theme-pack that Windows 7 Home Premium, Professional, Enterprise, and Ultimate users can get free of charge from the Personalization Gallery. Jennifer Shepherd, site manager for the Windows Personalization Gallery said the Waterdrops theme features a "dream-like wold of water-drops."
Speaking of the Personalization Gallery, here’s the theme’s description as presented on the aforementioned gallery:
“Discover the world inside a water drop with this free Windows 7 theme featuring astonishingly artistic images by photographer J.P. Peter.”
J.P.P’s passion for photography is a side business and he only gets involved in projects that he finds interesting. Normally he focuses on glamour and fashion photography, so taking photos of water drops was a departure from what J.P.P is used to. Still, he found the project interesting enough to get on board.
When asked what gave him the idea to come up with the Waterdrops theme, J.P.P had this to say:
"On a blog I read about macro photography with reverse mounted lenses and tried that technique. I became immediately fascinated by the shallow depth of field that draws all attention to the in-focus areas of the picture. At this magnification a simple drop of water becomes a whole world in itself to explore, a tiny universe that we fail to notice with our normal perspective."
