Reno’s Eldorado Hotel Casino caught my eye recently because it held a $50,000 Treasures of the Eldorado Slot Tournament and invited everyone to take part in the competition and potentially win a cool cash prize. The competition had a prize pool of $50,000, which was divided among 200 winners. The guys at the bottom of the winners list didn’t get much, but the 1st place winner got $10,000. The 2nd place winner got $3,500 while the 3rd place winner got $1,000.

The $50,000 Treasures of the Eldorado Slot Tournament was held during the weekend, this weekend, from February 26th until February 28th. Don’t worry, Eldorado Hotel Casino will soon give you the chance to win another $10,000.

On Friday and Saturday, the 11th and 12th of March, Eldorado Hotel Casino will host the $30,000 Blackjack Invitational, which is also open to the public. If you’re in Reno and you want a chance at winning $10,000 (that’s how much the 1st place winner will get), all you have to do is pay the $50 entry free and you’re on your way to potentially winning ten grand.

Assuming the $10K prize is incentive enough for you to go to Reno and take part in the aforementioned competition, then you need to check out the Eldorado Hotel Casino app for iOS 3.0 or later powered iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad.

As the app’s description says, it is “your interactive concierge to help you book rooms, browse restaurant menus, preview shows, buy tickets, and much more.”

To better put things in perspective, here are the app’s main features:
- Get detailed information on all the games the casino has to offer. On its 76,500 square foot gaming space Eldorado Hotel Casino features more than 1,400 gaming machines and more than 60 table and poker games.
- From within the app you can sign up for high-stakes poker and slot tournaments.
- View custom maps of the casino, hotel, and surrounding area. If you have problems remembering where you parked, drop a pin on the map and you will easily find your way back.
- Location-specific content is served to you. Once you’re close to Eldorado Hotel Casino, the app will unlock some special offers.
- The event calendar tells you what’s going on around town. You can you purchase tickets for shows, or book a suite at a special price, all within the app.
- Eldorado Hotel Casino features 11 restaurants. From the app you can make reservations at one of these multiple restaurants.
- The embedded smart-search bar allows you to search for content online by typing in a keyword.
- Private, passkey-protected content is available to registered event attendees, content like event schedules, programs and materials, speaker bios, break-out room agendas, convention maps and so on.
- If you’re staying in one of the 817 rooms available at Eldorado Hotel Casino, you can contact the front desk or housekeeping from within the app.
- The app works even when you’re not connected to the new (offline mode).

There are many other things this app can do. You can truly appreciate it’s functionality by getting it from the App Store and using it on your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad. The app doesn’t cost a thing; it is offered free of charge.
