Tired of seeing the same image when you boot up your Windows-powered computer and when you shut it down? Wouldn’t you much rather have Windows display something other than the default, something much cooler? Assuming the answers to both questions were “Yes”, I present to you the Lokibit-developed application VSLogonScreenCustomizer.

With this application installed on your machine it will take but a moment to change the logon screen. It is as simple as picking an image (do that by clicking Open Picture File from the top right hand corner of the application’s interface) and then clicking Apply. If you’re not ready to commit, you can see how the new logon screen will look by hitting the Preview button. And if you don’t like how the new logon screen looks like, you can undo the changes, go back to the default system image, or reset all changes.

If you would like to get VSLogonScreenCustomizer, you can grab it straight from FindMySoft here. Before you go, let’s focus on the technical bits.

The first thing you need to know is that the application is freeware. So if you thought that you’d have to part with your hard earned money to be able to change the logon screen, you don’t have to worry about it. You don’t have to spend anything unless you’re willing to donate and support VSLogonScreenCustomizer’s development (do that if you enjoy using the application).

Assuming that the application’s functionality and the fact that is freeware convinced you to go get it, I will only add that downloading and installing VSLogonScreenCustomizer on your machine will take little time. It is a straightforward, standard installation process that will not give you any headaches. You can install the application on Windows 7, Vista, and Server 2008.
