Great news if you have an Android-powered mobile device and you are a fan of Trillian: Cerulean Studios, the developer behind popular multiprotocol application Trillian, announced that it will roll out Trillian for Android. We have no idea when the final, stable Trillian for Android application will be rolled out. What we do know is that a Beta version will be rolled out “only a few weeks away.”

According to Cerulean Studios, a large number of people asked for a Trillian version for the Android operating system. Trillian for Android was such a requested app that Cerulean Studios couldn’t “handle any more blog comments or emails about it.” So it did the sensible thing – it gave the people what they wanted. It started developing Trillian for Android.

What can you expect to get from Trillian for Android when it wil be rolled out to the public? Cerulean Studios says you will get these bits and pieces:
  • - Connect to Facebook Chat, Windows Live, Yahoo!, AIM, ICQ, Google Talk, Jabber/XMPP and MySpaceIM
  • - Synchronize your contacts, avatars, status, accounts and more with your Trillian-enabled desktop or mobile apps
  • - Get notified easily with Android notification system integration
  • - Contact list sorting, grouping, metacontacts support, privacy settings and various ways to organize
  • - Set status, avatar and display name quickly in one simple screen
  • - Tabbed chat windows with bubble view, photo transfer, buzz and emoticon support
  • - Support for Android phones as far back as version 1.6 – works with your good old T-Mobile G1 or the newest HTC Evo 4G or Motorola Droid!
  • - We took special care and respect to design and build the user interface to smoothly integrate with Android – this is not just a clone from the iPhone!
Know what other Beta version will be rolled out to customers “in the coming weeks”? Trillian 5.0 for Windows Beta will be released soon, Cerulean Studios announced not too long ago. Know what’s out right now? Trillian for iPhone 1.3 has just been released to the public.
