Celebrating 10 Years of Google Maps

Google’s mapping service has been around for 10 years now. Launched back in February 2005, on the 8th of February to be more precise, Google Maps has become an indispensable tool. It is with great pleasure that I wish Google Maps a very joyous 10th anniversary.

“Getting from point A to B is something we do all day, every day—from finding the fastest way to get to work, to dropping the kids off on a carpool route, to meeting friends for drinks at a new spot—so it should be as easy as possible. That’s why we created Google Maps and why we’ve spent the last 10 years figuring out better ways for you to get around,” said the Google Maps Team.

To mark this joyous occasion, the Google Maps team rolled out an infographic entitled “A brief history of Google Maps,” infographic that shows how Google evolved for the past 10 years. You can check it out below.
