Piriform, the privately owned UK software developer dedicated to creating top quality applications for Windows, can now boast about the fact that it’s also dedicated to creating top quality applications for Mac. As you may remember, back in May, Piriform announced that come June, it will roll out a Beta version of its CCleaner application to Mac users willing to Beta test the product.

True to its word, Piriform did just that – on the 2nd of June it rolled out a Beta version of CCleaner for Mac to the public. “We're pleased to announce that CCleaner for Mac has been released as a public beta version. We're working on more features and anticipate new releases every few weeks, with a final version out in a month or two,” said Piriform on the occasion.

If you would like to get CCleaner for Mac Beta, you can get it straight from Piriform here. The regular Beta warnings apply: the application may not work properly, may be buggy, may give you a hard time, may ruin your day. Get it only if you know what Beta testing is all about. Or as Piriform put it, get CCleaner for Mac Beta only if you are an advanced user.

If you don’t want to put up with a potentially buggy application, or if you are not an advanced user, then it would be best to wait for the final version of CCleaner for Mac to be released. As Piriform said, the final version is supposed to be rolled out “in a month or two.” That means we may see a final version of CCleaner for Mac this July or perhaps this August. We’ll just have to wait and see.

As a longtime user of CCleaner for Windows, I wholeheartedly recommend it. It is a free, easy to use, and properly good application that will help you remove all the junk files that are needlessly taking up space on your computer.
