Earlier this month Mozilla announced that the Webmaker app for Android graduated from the Beta development phase. The app is now available for free on Google Play. Go get it and use it on your Android smartphone to create original content and tell your story.

“Mozilla built Webmaker to empower first-time smartphone users and mobile-first Web users as active participants on the Web. Too often, individuals around the world experience a “read-only” mobile Web, passively consuming content and unable to actively contribute. But when consumers become creators, they’re introduced to social and economic opportunity. And when everyone can contribute equally, the Web becomes a better place,” said Mozilla in a press release.

Mozilla WebMaker – Main features
  • Create content – people from all over the world can use this app to create original content in their language, content that is relevant for their community.
  • Easy to use – the app has an intuitive design, doesn’t feature complex toolbars, and doesn’t require any previous know-how. It’s a cinch to use it to create photo galleries, comic strips, birthday cards, how-to manuals, handbooks, and more.
  • Text, images and links – text, images and links are the web’s basic building blocks. WebMaker lets you use them to come up with all sorts of creations.
  • Share & tinker – share your projects with others; tinker with projects created by others.

Mozilla WebMaker, as mentioned at the start of this article, has recently graduated from the Beta development phase. This release offers better overall performance and better offline performance, an enhanced user experience, and features location-based content discovery. Furthermore, projects shared with this latest release can be viewed on any mobile or desktop platform.

Go get Mozilla WebMaker for Android from Google Play.
Please note that it requires Android 4.0 or newer.
