The new syncing tool developed by BitTorrent, the aptly named BitTorrent Sync, has been rolled out to the public as an Alpha version. Get it and see how P2P technology makes file syncing great.

Back in January we were reporting that you could sign up to test BitTorrent’s newest product, a syncing tool called BitTorrent Sync. We explained at the time that this is a tool that keeps data in sync using P2P technology. Or to put it in other words, it automatically syncs files between computers via secure, distributed technology, thus helping you efficiently and conveniently manage personal files between multiple computers.

This week BitTorrent announced that the pre-Alpha program was a big success,. More than 20,000 people from all over the world were eager and willing to join the pre-Alpha program and test BitTorrent Sync. And in testing the product they managed to sync over 200 terabytes of data.

BitTorrent made another interesting announcement this week: BitTorrent Sync Alpha has been rolled out to the public. Anyone can now get the application and enjoy the functionality it has to offer.

“Sync is unlimited, secure file-syncing. You can use it for remote backup. Or, you can use it to transfer large folders of personal media between users and machines; editors and collaborators. It’s simple. It’s free. It’s the awesome power of P2P, applied to file-syncing,” explained the BiTorrent Team.
