Bing Downloader: Easily Download the Bing Wallpaper You Like

From a visual point of view, the one thing that struck me when Microsoft launched Bing was the rather interesting wallpaper the decision engine used. The image harbors some interesting facts related to what the image displays, facts that will popup only when you hover your mouse on certain portions of the image – but I am not about that, I am talking about the fact that Bing’ backgrounds could very well serve as a wallpaper on my desktop.

Bing Downloader is an app that will do just that: it will download the background image that Bing employs and store in locally. Bing Downloader is a small app that weighs in at 10KB, is written in C#, does not require an installation. It used to be a background app, but not anymore – meaning that it will run, will download the Bing background image and will exit. The only prerequisite the app needs to function is that you have .NET Framework 3.5 installed on your machine.

Here are some useful tips regarding Bing and the background image:
Tip 1. The background image changes on a daily basis. On the right-hand cornet, at the bottom, you can see two arrow tabs; clicking them will take you to the backgrounds displayed in the past few days.

Tip 2. The Bing background image differs according to your geographical location – check out the images below for Bing United States and Bing Japan. The reason why the background image differs is because Bing provides “a search experience tailored to your part of the world,” but the catch is that localized version do not provide the same search functionality as the United States one does.
