Bethesda's Fully Focused on Fallout 4, So Don't Hold Your Breath Waiting for New Elder Scrolls Game

Video game publisher Bethesda is fully focused on the upcoming Fallout 4 game, which is great news for fans of the Fallout series, but not so great for fans of The Elder Scrolls series.

The fact that Bethesda is 100% focused on Fallout 4 means that Skyrim won’t get a sequel anytime soon. So don’t hold your breath waiting for a new Elder Scrolls game.

At Gamescon, Europe's biggest trade fair for interactive games and entertainment, Bethesda’s Vice President of Marketing and PR Pete Hines revealed that the studio is 100% focused on Fallout 4 and it will be a “very long time” before Bethesda focuses on a new project.

Bethesda’s team is roughly the same size since its inception and, because quality is important, it is imperative that Bethesda focuses on one game at a time. On top of that, The Elder Scrolls Online just recently became available for consoles and DLCs are planned well into next year; that should keep fans of the game busy exploring Tamriel for some time.

Seeing that The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim was a huge success and sold more than 20 million copies worldwide, you can be sure that Bethesda will release a new Elder Scrolls game – just that it won’t do it anytime soon, because it’s main focus is Fallout 4 right now.

Speaking about Fallout 4, I have to remind you that the game will be released on November 10, 2015 and will be available for PC, Xbox One and PS4.

If you want to own the entire Fallout anthology, you’ll be glad to know that the complete Fallout game collection is on its way.

Here are the main details you need to know about:
  • Fallout, Fallout 2, Fallout Tactics, Fallout 3 Game of the Year Edition, Fallout New Vegas Ultimate Edition.
  • Thin DVD sleeves housed in a “mini-nuke”case, with a free slot for the upcoming Fallout 4.
  • Price: $49.99.
  • Release date: September 29 in North America and October 2 in Europe.
  • Exclusively for PC.
