Did you know that popular multiprotocol instant messaging application Trillian has been around for 10 years now? As a matter of fact, the application celebrated its 10th anniversary on the 1st of July. The big news from Cerulean Studios is not that it celebrated Trillian’s 10th anniversary – the big news is that on the joyous occasion Cerulean Studios announced Trillian 5.0.

“In honor of our 10th birthday, we’re also unveiling our latest creation: Trillian 5 for Windows! A sneak peek website is online right now as we put the finishing touches on the first beta build, which will be available to all customers in the coming weeks,” announced Cerulean Studios.

You can visit the sneak peak website here. I already have and found out that Trillian 5.0 for Windows will feature the following:
- Trillian 5.0’s interface is designed to integrate with the latest version of the Microsoft-developed Windows operating system, Windows 7.
- Trillian 5.0 comes with a fully synchronized chat history. Your contact list, accounts, and chat history will always be synchronized between your desktops and phones.
- Proper support for Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn
- Foursquare plug-in
- Easily switch from the full to the compact user interface (great for when you have to use a small netbook).

If you want to be notified via email when Trillian 5.0 for Windows becomes available, you can sign up here. As Cerulean Studios said, a Beta build will be released in the "coming weeks". It may take a while until the final, stable version of Trillian 5.0 is released. After all, the final stable version of Trillian 4.2 graduated out of Beta little over a month ago.

Since we are on the topic of Beta releases, perhaps you would like to know that Trillian for BlackBerry Beta has recently been released to the public.
