Security company Avira has just announced that the 2013 versions of its security products have been rolled out to the public.

Antivirus Premium 2013, Internet Security 2013, and Internet Security Plus 2013 are the paid new security products that Avira has just recently released to the public. These are powerful antivirus applications that have the following new features to offer:
  • Browser Tracking Blocker

Available for all 2013 Avira products, this feature stops trackers from following your online activities; it blocks more than 600 advertisers, social networks, and other online companies from tracking what you do. Via a user friendly toolbar widget, you can choose which websites can collect info about you, info such as location and click behavior.
  • Website Safety Advisor

This new feature ensures you do not access potentially harmful websites. A checkmark next to a website’s URL tells you if that site is safe or dangerous and an explanation presents the possible risks you may expose yourself to. Sites are rated as safe, low risk and high risk based on the latest research from 50 different sources.
  • Avira Protection Cloud

By turning to the cloud, Avira takes malware identification to a new level. To better protect your system and your data, Avira’s 2013 products upload certain suspicious files to Avira’s cloud servers. Suspicious executable files on your PC are checked against malware data in the cloud, meaning that you’re protected against the latest threats.
  • Better protection for your children

Social Network Protection is now a part of Avira’s 2013 products. Activate this new feature and Avira’s 2013 products will supervise your child’s activities on Facebook and other social networks. You will be notified if your child is faced with inappropriate content, cyberbullying, online predators, and reputation damage.
Please note that Avira Social Network Protection is also available separately from Antivirus Premium 2013, Internet Security 2013, and Internet Security Plus 2013.

The Safe Browsing feature has been enhanced so that parents can block access to websites, set time limits, and set quiet hours for web surfing.
  • Enhanced protection

The AntiPhishing module has been improved to proactively detect email phishing, Avira’s scanning capabilities have been expanded to include network drives, there’s a full set of security tools for your Android-powered smartphone, and updates are received every 6 hours instead of ever y 24 hours.

Additional information on Avira’s 203 security products and what they have to offer is available here.

Antivirus Premium 2013, Internet Security 2013, and Internet Security Plus 2013 are available for a 30-day trial.
