Avira Mobile Security, the free security solution for iOS-powered mobile devices, has recently been updated. The updated version, version 1.4, introduces two new features:

Identity Safeguard – find out if your identity and privacy have been impacted by a security breach.
Locate Device – monitor and keep track of up to 5 devices.

Did you know that more than 160 million email addresses have been affected by a security breach? That’s for the past 6 months alone! Security breaches are nothing to joke about, especially if you care about your privacy. To help iOS users protect their privacy, security company Avira introduced a new feature for its free app, Avira Mobile Security.

The feature in question is called Identity Safeguard. This feature makes sure your email has not been caught in a security breach. You can check to make sure that due to a security breach, your personal identity details have not been leaked online. You can also scan your address book and see if any of your contacts have been compromised. If you find a contact whose privacy has been compromised, you can email and alert that contact.

Avira Mobile Security for iOS has a second new feature to offer: Locate Device. Thanks to this feature, you can monitor and track up to 5 devices. The location of each device is conveniently presented on a map. From within the app, you can make any of these devices “yell”. This comes in handy if you can’t find or if you want to more easily locate a device.

“With our free app for iOS users, Avira has changed the paradigm for iOS security,” said Leon Crutchley, mobile products manager for Avira. “Not only can users ensure that their identity has not been compromised, but they can check all the people in their contacts to find out if their email address have been compromised as well. Add in the ability to locate multiple iOS and Android devices in real-time from your iPhone, and you’ve got a new definition of security for iOS.”
