The recently released Avira Mobile Security app will protect your iPhone, iPod and iPad from malicious or rogue processes. It will also give you a free 5GB cloud storage account so you can free up some space on your iDevice.

Go get Avira Mobile Security for free from Apple’s App Store.

Security company Avira started the week by introducing a new product – a product meant to protect iOS users. The new product in question is called Avira Mobile Security, it works with the iPhone, iPad and iPod, and it is offered for free. Go get the app and you’ll get to enjoy the following functionality.

Avira Mobile Security – Main Features
  • Scan and detect malicious or rogue processes.
  • Find out if anyone tried to jailbreak the device.
  • Check if the operating system is up to date.
  • Get a free 5GB secure cloud storage account.
  • Track your device’s location if you lose it.
  • Make a lost device scream out loud.

“When we asked our customers and engineers to re-envision what ‘security’ means on a mobile device, we found that it’s not only about protecting the device and the data, it’s about being able to protect all your devices with an essential set of security applications. You feel secure because you don’t need to think about security,” said Travis Witteveen, CEO of Avira. “That complete protection and peace of mind is what Avira Mobile Security delivers. At a time when even phones are no longer secure from the bad guys, Avira is a security brand that you can trust to work flawlessly and consistently across all your mobile devices, on your laptop, and in the cloud.”

In related news, I remind Android users that they can protect their smartphones with Avira Free Android Security. The application protects against malicious apps, lets remotely lock your device, and more.
