Avira AntiVir 9 Makes Free Security Software Even Better
The German security software provider Avira has recently unveiled a new version of its security suite, mainly Avira AntiVir 9. Paying Avira customers will be able to get the upgrade for free, which is nice; but what is better is the fact that with this release Avira has fitted its free software version with some enhanced protection features.
“Fresh from the laboratory, we present Avira AntiVir Personal, Avira AntiVir Premium and Avira Premium Security Suite. Programmers at the German high-tech security powerhouse have given the user interface a facelift and improved user guidance. A configuration assistant takes the user by the hand and helps them to adapt the configuration quickly and easily to their personal needs. What’s inside is important, too: multi-processor and multi-core systems support allows the anti-virus solution to be up to 20 % faster,” said the leading German security specialist.
The most significant changes have been implemented within Avira’s top of the line product, Avira Premium Security Suite. The software application can now boast about three new features:
- QuickRemoval allows you to deal with multiple threats with a single click of the mouse. In the past, Avira would ask you, the user, how to proceed when malware was detected. This is no longer the case; you will only be prompted after a complete search has been performed. All detected malware is displayed in a list and with a simple mouse click you can get rid of it all.
- NetbookSupport for when you want to run Avira’s software on machines with low resolution.
- ParentalControl to block web pages that are inappropriate for your little one.
Avira again: “Avira Premium Security Suite now provides parents with parental control that is uncomplicated to use: simply assign ready-made profiles for children, teenagers and adults to your Windows user accounts – and you and your children will no longer be faced with unsuitable content when surfing. Administrators can create their own profiles and specify sites that are always allowed or prohibited, regardless of the chosen profile.”
Avira AntiVir Personal, the security software solution that Avira provides free of charge, now comes with two new features: spyware and adware protection. This is on top of the 20% speed increase, the Quick Removal option mentioned above and the protection features you’ve already learned to love in Avira AntiVir Personal.
