There are some interesting apps out there, and the recently released AutoRap app for iOS and Android is one of them. Developed by Smule, company that uses the magic of technology to liberate the expressive musician in everyone, AutoRap can take just about anything and turn it into rap. As the application’s official description goes, AutoRap “turns speech into rap, and corrects bad rapping.”

How good is AutoRap at turning speech into rap? The video below will show you. In the video, Smule co-founder Ge Wang performs the ultimate stress test. He imitates Beavis doing the “I am Cornholio” bit. AutoRap takes this and turns it into...just see for yourself!

AutoRap features a Talk and a Rap Mode. In Talk Mode, AutoRap takes your speech and turns it into rap. You can use Talk Mode to come up with interesting rap songs using freestyle beats or premium songs. The current song catalogue includes songs and beats from The Beastie Boys, Snoop Dogg, Ludacris, and many more. As Smule explained, more songs and beats are added to the list every week. Once you’re done creating a nice rap song, you can share it with others via popular social networking site Facebook and popular micro-blogging site Twitter.

Moving on to Rap Mode, by switching to this mode you can rap along to your favorite songs. The lyrics are To the song you choose are displayed on your device’s screen. While you flaunt your skills, AutoRAp corrects your flow and snaps the syllables to the rhythmic grid of the underlying beat.

As mentioned above, AutoRap is available for iOS and Android. You can get the app for free from Apple’s App Store here and from Google’s Play Store here.

Smule, company that aims to connect the world through music, has several other products to offer on top of AutoRap. Find out more on the company’s official website here.
