AutoRap 2.0 has just been rolled out to the App Store. This new version is a major update.

Smule overhauled the app, gave it a redesigned interface, introduced Rap Battles, enhanced the Top Rappers screen, and more.

Smule’s AutoRap, as I’m sure you already know, is a pretty cool app. How else would you describe an app that can automagically turn speech to rap? As a reminder, I’ve embedded an older video of Smule co-founder Ge Wang performing the ultimate stress test – the “Cornholio Test”.

The news is that Smule overhauled the AutoRap app. AutoRap 2.0, a major update, is now available for download on Apple’s App Store. As you would expect from a major update, version 2.0 comes with several new features and enhancements.

AutoRap 2.0 – What’s New
  • New Look – the app received a major facelift. The interface has been redesigned so it is now easier to use and more appealing. Even the AutoRap icon has been changed.
  • Rap Battles – things are always a bit more interesting when you get to challenge others. That’s what you can do with the new Rap Battle feed. Instead of raping alone, you can go head to head with friends or strangers. There’s even an AutoRap 2.0 Rap Battle Contest that runs through 11:59 pm PDT on April 30, 2014.
  • Longer Songs – the maximum recording time has been increased so you can create longer songs.
  • Rap with Your Crew – the invite list is automatically populated so you can create your crew and rap with your crew.
  • Enhanced Battle Invitations
  • Enhanced Top Rappers Screen
The video embedded below presents the Rap Battles feature mentioned above.

And this video presents the Rap Battles Contest that was also mentioned above.

AutoRap 2.0 is available for download on Apple’s App Store.
At the time of writing this, AutoRap for Android has not been updated to version 2.0.

Information on the Rap Battle Contest is available on the official Smule blog.
