While August 2 is just another Tuesday for you, me, and pretty much everyone in the world, it is a very important date for several big-name tech companies: NVIDIA, Samsung and Microsoft.
Here’s why.
NVIDIA’s Titan X graphics card will be released
It’s easy to see why NVIDIA says that the Titan X is "the world’s ultimate graphics card." It has 11 TFLOPS of power, 3584 CUDA Cores, 12GB of 10Gbps GDDR5X VRAM, a 384-bit Memory Interface, 480 GB/sec of Memory Bandwidth, boosts to 1.5GHz out of the box, utilizes superior heat dissipation vapor chamber cooling technology, and last but not least, it has a stunning design.
NVIDIA’s TITAN X hits the market on August 2, 2016. Learn more about it here.
Samsung will unveil the new Galaxy Note 7
On August 2, Samsung will unveil the new Galaxy Note 7 at the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event that will take place in New York.
"With added functionality of the S Pen and large screen, the Galaxy Note7 is a powerful instrument for achievement and self-expression, and is made for those who want to get the most from their phones – and their lives. Galaxy Note7 will help people do more in work, at home and everywhere in between," said Samsung.
Confused about the numbering? Since the current Galaxy Note is the Note 5, Samsung should unveil the Note 6, right? To minimize confusion among users, Samsung has decided to skip to number 7. This way, the Note is aligned with the Galaxy S. You have the Galaxy S7 and you have the Galaxy Note 7.
Microsoft starts rolling out the first major update for Windows 10
Windows 10 is no longer offered as a free update. For those who never wanted it in the first place, it’s reason to celebrate. For the millions who upgraded, it's reason to get excited, because on August 2, Windows 10 will get its first major update – the Windows 10 Anniversary Update.
Here are some of the highlights:
Microsoft’s most advanced Xbox console hits the market
The Xbox One isn’t Microsoft’s most advanced console. That title has gone to the sleek new Xbox One S, which is 40% small than the original Xbox One and comes packed with tons of goodies: built-in power supply, 4K Ultra HD video, up to 2TB of storage, and more.
On August 2, the 2TB Xbox One S Launch Edition starts shipping to all those who pre-ordered it.
