Approaching Opera 10 Final, Desktop Team Announces

At the start of the month the development team behind Opera 10 released the first Beta version of the browser, marking the move out of Alpha and closer to a final, stable version of Opera 10. The Opera team has now come out to announce that they are moving ever closer to the goal of putting out Opera 10 final and in their efforts the focus has been on fixing bugs and making the software ore stable.

“We are quickly approaching the final release of Opera 10.0, so we have been working on fixing bugs and stabilizing the program. What we need to do now is to identify any remaining issues that are serious enough to block the release (so-called "showstoppers"). There are some more bugfixes coming up, so we are not quite ready for a release candidate yet, but you should definitely let us know about any serious issues we may have missed,” commented Håvard K. Moen, tester on the Opera Desktop Team.

With this announcement a snapshot build of Opera 10 has been released. It comes with stability enhancements, bug fixes, and a few other mentionable changes to Opera Link (provides better automatic merging of duplicate bookmarks and) and Opera Unite (fixed a lot of bugs) and the user interface.

Håvard K. Moen again: “This build includes numerous bugfixes and general stability work, as well as skin fixes, and some important changes to Opera Link. Opera Unite has also received some attention based on the feedback from the public.”

Be warned though that this is a development snapshot. As such it may come with some sever known issues like crashes and data loss incidents.
