Apply Magic Sauce draws a pretty accurate personality profile by analyzing the things you liked on Facebook. By analyzing part of your digital footprint, mainly your Facebook likes, it provides useful information about your personality and it lets you visualize how others perceive you online.

Developed at the University of Cambridge Psychometrics Centre, Apply Magic Sauce will not post anything on your Facebook, will not store your Facebook profile information, and it will not store any prediction results. So if you had any privacy concerns, if you were concerned about letting it access your Facebook, you need not be.

It’s a well-known fact that Facebook knows a lot about you. After all, you’re the one who told Facebook when you were born, where you’re from, who your friends are, and what you like. Speaking about what you like, do you know that your Facebook likes can be used to create a pretty accurate personality profile, one that includes your big 5 personality traits – openness, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness, and neuroticism.

Researchers at the University of Cambridge Psychometrics Centre created Apply Magic Sauce, a tool that translates your digital footprints into a detailed psychological profile. Give it access to your Facebook and it will analyze your likes; then, based on your likes, it will generate a psycho-demographic profile that accurately predicts a range of traits: if you’re conservative and traditional or liberal and artistic, if you’re impulsive and spontaneous or organized and hardworking, and more.

To get started, you must visit the official Apply Magic Sauce website and click on the large, blue Predict My Profile button. You’ll be asked to log into your Facebook account and grant Apply Magic Sauce access to your Facebook likes.

Apply Magic Sauce will analyze your likes and will generate a psycho-demographic profile that predicts your: age, gender, big 5 personality traits, intelligence, life satisfaction, sexual preference, political orientation, religious orientation, education, relationship status.

Here’s how Apply Magic Sauce predicted my big 5 personality traits. Apparently, I’m contemplative and I’m more laid back and relaxed that 64% of the population.

If you don’t agree with Apply Magic Sauce’s prediction, click the “Take personality test” button to answer a few questions and get a more precise personality profile.

You might not agree with Apply Magic Sauce’s prediction of your intelligence and life satisfaction either. If that is the case, click on “take IQ test” or on “take satisfaction test” to get more accurate results.

Apply Magic Sauce can predict a range of traits without having to ask you any questions. Its models were built using actual psychological data and social media profiles from over 6 million people. Apply Magic Sauce’s main purpose is to show you how others perceive you online. So keep that in mind if you find that it doesn’t paint an entirely accurate picture of who you really are.
