The new iOS 8 mobile operating system will power the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, Apple’s thinnest smartphones ever. They're 6.9mm and 7.1mm thin, have a 4.7 and a 5.5-inch Retina HD display, a precision unibody enclosure of anodized aluminum, a powerful A8 chip, and more. These new smartphones manage to blend together a bigger display with a smooth body design and blazing fast performance.

“iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are the biggest advancements in iPhone history,” said Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO. “The iPhone is the most loved smartphone in the world with the highest customer satisfaction in the industry and we are making it much better in every way. Only Apple can combine the best hardware, software and services at this unprecedented level and we think customers are going to love it.”

The iPhone 6 has a 4.7-inch Retina HD display, 1334 x 750 resolution, while the iPhone 6 Plus has a 5.5-inch Retina HD display, 1920 x 1080 resolution.

Both devices come with a unibody enclosure of anodized aluminum and shaped glass for the display. This results in a completely smooth and continuous surface. And, as previously mentioned, the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 are Apple’s thinnest smartphones ever. So to sum it, these new smartphones have large Retina HD display and a thin and smooth body that can be comfortably held in your palm.

Both devices come with a second generation 64-bit A8 chip and with the M8 motion coprocessor. It must be mentioned here that the A8 chip comes with an Apple-designed image signal processor that enables advanced camera and video features. And it must also be mentioned that motion data from the M8 coprocessor is delivered to iOS 8’s Health app, the app that provides a clear overview of your health and fitness data.

The 8-megapixel iSight camera comes with a new feature that allows for faster autofocus (comes in handy when you want to take a quick snap of something) and with new optical image stabilization technology (reduces subject motion and compensates for hand shake in low light conditions; available for iPHone 6 Plus only). Speaking about stabilization, cinematic video stabilization ensures you don’t end up with shaky videos.

The 1.2-megapixel FaceTime HD camera comes with a new sensor and a larger f/2.2 aperture. It comes with burst mode, it can capture HDR videos, and it has several other advanced features.

You can browse and download content at blazing speeds because the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6Plus come with faster LTE download speeds of up to 150 Mbps. Up to 20 LTE wireless bands are supported – no other smartphone in the world supports that many.

The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus come in gold, silver and space gray.
Apple-designed leather cases will be available in black, soft pink, olive brown, midnight blue and (RED).
Apple-designed silicone cases will be available black, blue, pink, green, white and (RED).

The suggested retail prices, if you get a two-year contract, are:
