Annoyed Monkey Stars in F-Secure's 'That Feeling When...' Videos

While TrendMicro used an adorable pooch, F-Secure used an annoyed, keyboard bashing monkey to highlight the fact that you shouldn’t take security lightly.

These are the 4 videos that F-Secure recently released, videos that carry the tagline "that feeling when..."

That Feeling When A Hacker Has Made Your Password Public

That’s something that happened to none other than Facebook co-founder and CEO, Mark Zuckerberg. He chose a poor password, mainly "dadada," reused it for multiple accounts, and thus gave hackers the chance to hack into his Pinterest and Twitter accounts.

Zuckerberg isn’t the only one who managed to get his Twitter account hacked. It also happened to Katy Perry, who has the most popular account on Twitter, with more than 90 million followers at the time of writing this.

That Feeling When Your Banking Details Have Been Stolen

Phishing – that’s the most common method the bad guys will employ to try and steal your banking details. As a rule of thumb, you should never trust any email that claims to be from your bank and asks you divulge your username and password.

Phishing attacks rely on you getting tricked into divulging important information. That’s why it is extremely important to learn how to identity and avoid them.

That Feeling When You Realize A Virus Has Erased All Your Files

The thing about data loss accidents is that you never know when they might occur. Your computer might get infected with a virus that erases all your files. One of your storage drives might fail, meaning you’ll lose everything that was stored on it. You might lose your laptop and along with it, all the data you had on it.

That’s why it is important to back up your important data. On World Backup Day, which is celebrated each year on March 31st, we ask you to take the World Backup Day pledge and solemnly swear to back up your important documents and precious memories.

That Feeling When Ransomware Has Locked Your Computer

The scary thing about ransomware is that it takes your data hostage. And when you have data that’s worth a lot of money, getting infected with ransomware is a nightmarish scenario – one that came true for NASCAR racing team Circle Sport-Leavine Family Racing (CSLFR). CSLFR managed to get infected with ransomware, losing access to data valued at some $2 million dollars.

The main thing you need to remember is that the bad guys are after money. So the worst thing you can do is pay the ransom. If you pay, you’re showing the bad guys that their fear tactics work and that they can make money by infecting more people. Furthermore, there’s no guarantee that once you pay you’ll get your data back. You’re dealing with bad guys here. They might take your money and not give you the key to get your data back. Or worse still, they might come back and ask for more money.
