The immensely popular and highly addictive Angry Birds game, the webOS version, has been updated. As you may remember, the game landed on WebOS–powered Palm Pre and Palm Pixi mobile devices this August and Palm was more than pleased to see the game on its App Catalog. It is after all one of the best-selling apps in more than 60 countries.

Palm was also pleased to announce that the Angry Birds game has been updated. Paul Araquistain, Palm PR: “Fans of the avian bombardiers that go by the name of “Angry Birds” will be thrilled to hear that there’s a new free webOS update to the amazingly addictive game that pits fowl against swine. The v1.4.2 update for webOS is now available for download with the latest levels and features.”

That’s the first news I wanted you to know about; here comes the second one. Tomorrow, the 11th of December, is the first ever official Angry Birds Day. To celebrate Angry Birds Day, a day dedicated to raising awareness about the “alarming levels of avian-porcine aggression worldwide,” go to and join an Angry Birds Day meetup in your location. If there is no meetup in your location you can organize one – there’s still time.

Here's the surprise: the 10 most active cities that celebrate Angry Birds Day will be recreated in all their splendor in the Angry Birds game.

“If you love Angry Birds, and if you love the city you live in, you'll probably love the chance to get your city featured in the game - December 11 is the time to act! The Angry Birds Team will select 10 of the most crowded, loudest, creative, and fun Angry Birds Day locations from around the world, and recreate them in an upcoming Angry Birds experience!” announced Rovio Mobile.
