Rovio Entertainment and Hasbro decided to team up and create a mash-up of two much loved entertainment brands: Angry Birds and Transformers. The two companies will roll out Angry Birds Transformers as a mobile game, as consumer licensed goods, and as a Hasbro product line.

“We’re really excited to combine the iconic Transformers universe with the quirky world of Angry Birds” said Blanca Juti, Chief Marketing Officer of Rovio. “This mash-up is going to appeal to those who grew up with the brand in the 80s, as well as fans of the brand today. People are going to love it!”

Rovio Entertainment is best known for the Angry Birds series of games. Hasbro is well known for the Transformers line of toys. What do you get when these two companies decide to work together? Why you get a mash-up of Angry Birds and Transformers – you get Angry Birds Transformers.

The Angry Birds Transformers franchise will cover a mobile game, consumer licensed goods, and a Hasbro product line.

There will be an Angry Birds Transformers mobile game that will feature “birds disguised as robots in disguise." There will also be an Angry Birds Transformers product line featuring TELEPODS technology so that fans can teleport their favorite Angry Birds Transformers characters into the aforementioned game.

“Angry Birds Transformers provides fans worldwide with a fun, new story and characters, and innovative ways, like our TELEPODS platform, for consumers to engage with the brand” said John Frascotti, Chief Marketing Officer at Hasbro. “We collaborated with Rovio to create opportunities for kids and families to experience Autobirds and Deceptihogs across multiple formats and entertainment platforms, for a completely immersive branded experience.”

Rovio will publish more info on Angry Birds Transformers products and content in the coming weeks.
