Just as promised, Rovio Entertainment rolled out the new Angry Birds Star Wars game for iOS, Android, Amazon Kindle Fire, Mac, PC, Windows Phone, and Windows 8.

A long time ago, in a galaxy far away...actually, not that long ago, about a month back, Rovio Entertainment announced that, as part of a partnership with Lucasfilm, it will roll out a new Start Wars-themed Angry Birds edition to the public – Angry Birds Star Wars.

Yesterday, November 8th, the new blockbuster game was released for iOS, Android, Amazon Kindle Fire, Mac, PC, Windows Phone, and Windows 8. Alongside the new game, a cinematic trailer was also released by Rovio Entertainment.

“It’s a banner day for us,” said on Thursday Peter Vesterbacka, CMO of Rovio Entertainment. “This is our best Angry Birds game yet, and we’re excited for our fans to finally meet Luke, Leia, and the rest of the gang! But it’s more than just a game launch: we think fans are going to just love the new animated trailer and the Angry Birds Star Wars products, sure to be a big hit this holiday season.”

The new game presents you with a plucky group of Rebel birds that go on an epic intergalactic journey. You start off on the desert planet of Tatooine, and for more than 80 levels you fight against the evil Imperial Pigs and work your way to the dreaded Death Star where you get to face off against the terrifying Darth Vader. You will get to enjoy hours of engaging gameplay, level up your birds, use lightsabers, blasters and Jedi powers, and call the Mighty Falcon to rain down destruction on the Imperial Pigs.
