Adobe Comp CC, a new and free app for Apple’s iOS mobile operating system, has powerful layout-design capabilities to offer. Designers can use it on their iPads to come up with layout concepts for mobile, web and print projects.

They can use Adobe Comp CC on their iPads to do the concept work. Then they can switch to the desktop and use tools like Photoshop CC, Illustrator CC and InDesign CC to create production-quality work and finish the project.

“Doing creative work on a mobile device is only useful if the results can be synced to the desktop, where the project can be perfected in a precise, professional-grade tool like InDesign or Photoshop. With Comp CC we’ve simplified the design process, helping creatives take their initial layout-designs on iPad and make them the basis of high-impact finished work on the desktop – all thanks to Creative Cloud,” said Scott Belsky, vice-president, products at Adobe.

Adobe Comp CC – Main Features
  • Layout design capabilities – quickly wireframe ideas for mobile, web and print projects. Mix together images, headlines, text, and frames.
  • Simple Gestures – the app is meant to help you easily work on your iPad. Consequently, you can get things done with simple gestures.
  • Typekit Fonts – from within the app you can browse, preview, and select from over a hundred free, high-quality fonts.
  • Multi-App Integration – you can use graphics created with Photoshop or Illustrator, drawings created with Photoshop Sketch or Illustrator Draw, and images captured with Shape CC or Color CC.
  • Creative Cloud – import your saved asset collections from Creative Cloud Libraries or ready-made vector graphics and icons from Creative Cloud Market.
  • Desktop Transition – export your work as a native file and keep working on your project using Adobe InDesign CC, Adobe Photoshop CC, or Adobe Illustrator CC.
Adobe Comp CC for iPad is available for free on Apple’s App Store. The app requires iOS 7.1 or later.
