Adobe Creative Cloud Goes Live on Friday

After announcing the immediate availability of Adobe Photoshop CS6 (and the several other products that are part of the Creative Suite 6 product line), Adobe Systems announced that on Friday, May 11th 2012, it will roll out Adobe Creative Cloud. Or to put it in other words, come Friday, Adobe Creative Cloud will become available; the Creative Suite 6 (CS6) product line is already available.

Based on what Adobe had to say, creatives are right to be excited about Adobe Creative Cloud. The company presented the new subscription-based service as a “radical new way of providing tools and services”. Centered around the powerful release of Adobe Creative Suite 6 software, Adobe Creative Cloud is a hub for making, sharing and delivering creative work. It is packed with innovative and powerful tools.

Here is what Senior VP of Digital Media Business with Adobe, David Wadhwani, had to say about the release of the CS6 product line and about Adobe Creative Cloud:
“We announced Creative Cloud and CS6 two weeks ago and these releases have caught the imagination of creatives everywhere. Today we're shipping CS6 and look forward to the beginning of an exciting new era as we introduce Creative Cloud later this week.”

A Creative Cloud membership will cost US$49.99 per month based on annual membership and US$74.99 per month for month-to-month membership. To mark the launch of Creative Cloud, CS3, CS4, CS5 and CS5.5 individual customers will get a special introductory offer of US$29.99 per month. Adobe Creative Cloud will be released in 36 countries around the world.

Pay for a Creative Cloud subscription and you get the following:
  • You will be able to download and install all the products from the CS6 line which includes Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Flash Professional).
  • You will also be able to download and install Adobe Muse 1.0 and Adobe Edge preview, new HTML5 desktop products.
  • Store content in the cloud, share it across devices.
  • Integrated website publishing and hosting.
  • Access to the most up-to-date products and services.
