If you want to protect your computer and not pay a dime in return, then one of the better security solutions you can find is Lavasoft’s Ad-Aware Free Internet Security. Now that Lavasoft has enhanced its free security software application, Ad-Aware Free Internet Security looks even better to the user that is not willing to spend money on security software solutions.

The latest Ad-Aware Free Internet Security Release is version 8.3. Recently Lavasoft updated it. So what’s so exciting about the update? The exciting part is that version 8.3 now comes with two new features that were not available in any of the previous versions:

1. Antivirus protection – Ad-Aware Free now combines antispyware protection with antivirus protection. The application can now deliver basic protection against spyware, rootkits, and viruses.

“Here at Lavasoft, it's part of our founding principle that all computer users must have the power to protect themselves online. By continuing to offer the Ad-Aware Free version and now adding anti-virus protection, we are ensuring that our users throughout the world have a one-stop product that delivers core malware protection: anti-spyware, anti-virus and anti-rootkit,” commented Senior Technologies Director with Lavasoft, Johnny Widerlund,.

2. Scheduler – The Free edition of Ad-Aware now features the much requested and much awaited scheduler function

For years the scheduler version has been available only in the paid versions of Ad-Aware. And for years users have been asking for this feature to be made available in the Free version as well. Until now users of Ad-Aware Free Internet Security felt that because they have to manually run scans, Lavasoft makes their computers less secure. It seems that Lavasoft has finally decided to put end to this and gave users what they wanted – a scheduler.
