Presenting the free iPhone app released by comedy website 9GAG.

Earlier this August the team behind the very popular comedy website 9GAG released version 1.0 of the official 9GAG app for iPhone. The app is available for download, free of charge of course, on Apple’s App Store. It will work with any Phone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, 3rd and 4th generation iPod Touch, and with any iPad powered by iOS 4.2 or newer.

“9GAG makes having fun a part of daily life for anyone, anytime, anywhere in the world,” says the app’s official description. “9GAG for iPhone lets you explore the funnest visual entertainment on the planet and enjoy your free time easily on the go. You can seamlessly view one hilarious post right after another — even without an Internet connection — right from your iPhone.”

Using the application is a fairly straightforward matter. Swipe left to move on to the next post, swipe right to return to the previous post, hit the button from the bottom left to share a post, hit the button from the bottom right to skip the post, hit the thumbs up or thumbs down button to like or dislike a post. Here’s an image to better put things in perspective.

If you’re not familiar with 9GAG, let me give you a very quick explanation: it is a community-driven comedy site where people from all over the world post funny content (memes, comics, videos, other things of the sort). The community gets to vote on the posts, and the ones that get the most votes make it from the Vote to the Trending and then to the What’s Hot page. The site is quite entertaining and there’s a running joke that 9GAG will steal your soul.
