The CCleaner app for Android helps you get rid of the junk that piles up, clutters, and slows down your smartphone or tablet. To better put things in perspective, I am just going to list the app’s main features:

CCleaner for Android – List of main Features
  • Speed up your Android by safely removing junk that slows it down.
  • Clean application cache, download folders, browser history, clipboard content, and more.
  • Delete call logs and SMS messages individually, in bulk, by age or by contact.
  • Uninstall multiple unwanted applications.
  • Check the usage of your CPU.
  • Keep track of your RAM and internal storage space.
  • Check out your battery levels and temperature.
CCleaner for Android is available for download from Google Play since April, 2013 – that’s when the app graduated from Beta and was rolled out to Google's app store. As a matter of fact, the app has been downloaded more than 4 million times since Piriform released it to Google Play.

The news is that CCleaner for Android is now available on the Amazon App Store as well.

“We're very excited to announce that it's now also available to download for free from the Amazon App Store! So now you can keep your Kindle Fire running Clean, Safe and Fast like the rest of your Android Devices,” announced the Piriform Team on its blog.

In related news, Amazon’s Fire Phone, the company’s first smartphone, the one that hit the US market back in July, hit the UK market this week. Security company AVG Technologies made sure to remind us that it has two useful apps for Amazon’s Fire Phone:
  • AVG AntiVirus PRO for Fire Phone – provides full featured protection from viruses, malware, spyware & online exploitation.
  • AVG Alarm Clock Xtreme Free for Fire Phone – gently wakes you up in the morning, ensures you won’t accidentally hit dismiss instead of snooze.
