In the first week after its launch Angry Birds 2 managed to rack up more than 20 million downloads (as I’ve reported yesterday). But you see, Angry Birds 2 has been around for 2 weeks now. And during these two weeks, the game has been downloaded more than 30 million times.

“After 14 days of flinging, smashing and popping, the flock’s all-new adventure has hit the 30 million download milestone — with a third coming from China alone,” announced Rovio on its blog.

The sequel to Rovio’s incredibly popular Angry Birds game, Angry Birds 2, was released to the public on July 30, which is precisely 14 days ago. Unsurprisingly, tons of people from all over the world rushed to get the game. By the end of the first week, Angry Birds 2 had been downloaded more than 20 million times. And two weeks later, the game had been downloaded more than 30 million times.

“Design technology has evolved dramatically since the original game launched in 2009,” said Rovio co-founder Niklas Hed. “With Angry Birds 2 we wanted to bring a level of expressive depth and detail seen previously only in a console game or animated series – and create a new game that kids and adults alike won’t be able to put down.”

“Angry Birds 2 doubles down on the core tenets of the original that our fans loved: destruction and more destruction!” added the game’s creative director Patrick Liu. “At the same time it adds a whole new layer of emergent strategy gameplay for both old and new fans to master.”

If you want to see what all the fuss is about, go get Angry Birds 2 from Apple’s App Store or Google Play.

Here are the main game highlights you should know about: collect and choose what bird to fling at the piggies; stunningly beautiful levels (some are multi-stage levels); use spells in your fight against the pigs; defeat powerful boss piggies; play against others in the Arena; earn gems for extra birds, lives and tickets.
