I’ve made it a habit of following Days of the Year, because it’s fun to find out what today is, not to mention that telling people what today is makes me seem interesting and knowledgeable. Speaking of which...

Did you know that today is Evaluate Your Life Day? A day when we’re encouraged to "take an accounting, a reckoning of the things we’ve done, the progress we’ve made, and the path we’re on."

One thing I know most adults focus on when evaluating their lives is their jobs. Am I making enough money at my current job? Should I quit my job and look for something else? Should I work for myself? In honor of 'Evaluate Your Life Day', here are 3 resources that will help you find an answer to these questions.

1. Find out if you’re making enough money

There’s this annoying thought in the back of your head that your boss isn’t paying you enough, that you should be making more money but you aren’t because (s)he’s a stingy, penny-pinching, tight-fisted @$$%&!#. Luckily for you, there is a way to find out if you’re paid fairly.

Job-search site Glassdoor recently launched a salary tool called Know Your Worth. It uses sophisticated data science and machine learning algorithms to come up with a free, personalized salary estimate based on today’s job market. After you input your basic details (like experience, location, company, and title), it will tell you how much money you should be making.

"We believe knowledge is power and we’ve built Know Your Worth to help people better understand their earnings potential and worth in the ever-changing job market,” said Glassdoor CEO Robert Hohman. "Glassdoor is uniquely positioned to deliver Know Your Worth with our significant salary database, our real-time pulse on job openings, and insights into probable career transitions for millions of employees. Know Your Worth is the latest Glassdoor innovation that delivers on our mission to help people everywhere find a job and company they love."

So to sum it up, thanks to Know Your Worth you’ll find out what you should be getting paid. If you’re getting the right amount, that’s great. If not, perhaps you should ask for a raise or…

2. Find out if you should quit your job

Just because you’re mad at your boss doesn’t mean you should just pack up and leave. There are other things you must take into consideration before you quit. And this is where the Should I Quit My Job quiz comes in. It asks you a total of 25 questions that you must answer on a 1-5 scale, where 1 means you strongly disagree and 5 means you strongly agree. When you’re done, it will tell you if you should jump ship or not.

70% of people don’t like their jobs and about 20% actively hate it, according to a Gallup poll. Perhaps they’d let go of the hate if they worked for themselves.

3. Find out if you should work for yourself

Working for yourself sounds pretty cool. You’re your own boss, you set your own hours, you can go on vacation whenever you want. But… are you sure working for yourself is the right step for you? The infographic below will help you come up with an answer.
