3 Exciting Fallout 4 Expansions Are on Their Way

The first Fallout 4 expansions, add-ons, DLC packs, or whatever you want to call them, are coming. Bethesda just announced that it will release 3 expansions in the coming months (March, April, and May) and that even more content will be released later this year.

The bad news is that all this new content costs. Consequently, Bethesda will hike up the price of the Fallout 4 Season Pass. But not right away, which means you still have a bit of time to grab it for the regular price of $29.99. But before we get bogged down with bad news, let’s take a closer look at the good stuff.

Automatron – Build your own custom robot

Automatron, the first Fallout 4 expansion, introduces the mysterious Mechanist, who unleashed a horde of evil robots into the Commonwealth. It’s up to you to hunt these robots down. Once you do, you can harvest their parts and use them to build your very own custom robot. Hundreds of mods are available so you can customize your robot just the way you want to. There will even be an option to fit your robot with an all-new lightning chain gun.

Automatron is going to be released this March and will cost $9.99 USD, £7.99 GBP or $16.95 AUD.

Wasteland Workshop – Capture, tame wild creatures

Want to capture a Deathclaw, tame it, and then have it battle someone, including your settlers? Because that’s what you’ll get from Wasteland Workshop – the option to capture live creatures, tame them, and have them face off in battle. On top of that, the Wasteland Workshop will introduce several new design options for your settlements: taxidermy, letter kits, nixie tube lighting, and more.

Wasteland Workshop is going to be released this April and will cost $4.99 USD, £3.99 GBP or $7.95 AUD.

Far Harbor – A huge and mysterious island

The story behind this expansion goes something like this. You take on a mission for the Valentine’s Detective Agency, mission that takes you to the mysterious island of Far Harbor. Your goal is to search for a young woman and a secret colony of synths. But it isn’t going to be easy, because the higher levels of radiation have turned Far Harbor into a feral world full of lethal creatures. Conflict is brewing between the locals, the synths, and the Children of Atom. Will you help restore the peace?

The island of Far Harbor is the largest landmass for an add-on that Bethesda has ever created. On the island, you will find new, higher-level armor and weapons, faction quests, settlements, dungeons, and creatures.

Far Harbor is going to be released this May and will cost $24.99 USD, £19.99 GBP, or $39.95 AUD.

Bethesda hikes up the Season Pass price

If you purchase a Season Pass, you can get all the expansions featured above and all other upcoming expansions. Bethesda announced that it plans to release “more than $60 worth of new Fallout adventures and features throughout 2016.”

The downside is that by expanding the DLC plan, Bethesda has to hike the price of the Season Pass from $29.99 to $49.99 USD, from £24.99 to £39.99 GBP, and from $49.95 to $79.95 AUD.

The price change will happen on March 1st, 2016.

If you already purchased the Season Pass for $29.99, nothing will change. You’ll get all the expansions for free.

If you haven’t purchased the Season Pass, you have until March 1st to purchase it for $29.99 and get all the expansions for free once they come out. That’s $60 worth of content for half the price.

There is a way to get the expansions for free, but there’s a catch!

Bethesda will run closed Betas for all the expansions it will release. Sign up to be a Beta tester and, if you’ll be accepted into the Beta program, you will get early access to the expansions and you won’t have to purchase said expansions.
