Here’s some great news if you are a fan of the 2D Boy-developed, award-wining physics game World of Goo: the price for all iOS versions of the game as well as the Mac version that’s available on the Mac App Store has dropped considerably.World of Goo and World of Goo HD are now offered for the low price of 99 cents. That’s less than one dollar for one of the best games on the App Store. World of Goo for Mac is available for $1.99 in the Mac App Store.

To better put things in perspective, let me remind you how much these apps regularly cost. World of Goo for iPhone and iPod Touch is regularly priced at $2.99 – you can get it for $0.99 now. World of Goo HD, an universal app that works on the iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch, is regularly priced at $4.99 – you can get it for $0.99 as well. I would go for the HD version since they’re both priced the same at 99 cents.

Moving on, World of Goo is regularly priced $9.99 in the Mac App Store. As a little side note, World of Goo was released to the Mac App Store on the 7th of June, 2011. But I digress. Let’s get back to the topic at hand. The game is now available for purchase for the low price of $1.99. That’s an 80% discount. As far as I see it, that’s amazing!

The announcement that World of Goo is on sale was made by Kyle Gabler yesterday, September 28th. 2D Boy, the company behind the World of Goo game was founded by former EA Arts developers Kyle Gabler and Ron Carmel. Kyle said yesterday that that the sale goes on through the weekend and that 2D Boy was founded precisely 5 years ago. I guess the games are on sale in honor of this joyous occasion.

A heartfelt “Happy 5th Anniversary!” to Kyle and Ron on behalf of myself and everyone else here at FindMySoft.

In related news I recently posted a review of World of Goo HD and gave it the rating “Essential”. Check out the review here.
