15 New Video Games You Can Play this Month (February 2017)

Another month, another batch of fresh new game releases. Come and check out 15 new video games that are scheduled to be released in February 2017.

Before I go on, I have to quickly remind you about the 10 new video games that were released last month, in January 2017. That’s it, carry on!

1. Fire Emblem Heroes
  • Game type – free-to-play tactical role-playing mobile game.
  • Release date – February 2 for iOS and Android. This is Nintendo’s third mobile app after Miitomo and Super Mario Run.
  • Price – free with optional in-app purchases.
  • About – Fight battles customized for touch screens and on-the-go gameplay. Summon characters from across the Fire Emblem universe. Develop your Heroes' skills, and take them to new heights. This is your adventure—a Fire Emblem that's like nothing you've seen before!

2. A House of Many Doors
  • Game type – indie 2D exploration RPG.
  • Release date – February 3 for PC and Mac on Steam.
  • About – You are an explorer, poet and spy, traversing and mapping the House – a vast parasite dimension that steals things and people from other worlds. Exploring in a train that scuttles on mechanical legs, you will discover bizarre civilizations, befriend your crew, write procedurally-generated poetry, and cling to life and sanity.

3. Husk
  • Game type – survival-horror game. Husk is a down-to-earth survival-horror game about harm, pain and seeking forgiveness in Shivercliff, a town abandoned for unknown reasons.
  • Release date – February 3 for PC on Steam.
  • About – It’s 1995, you’re Matthew Palmer and you’ve just woken up after a train crash. There’s nobody around you. Especially, there’s no trace of your wife and daughter. The only sign indicating where you are says: Welcome to Shivercliff.

4. Splasher
  • Game type – fun and challenging 2D platformer filled with humor and surprises.
  • Release date – February 7 for PC on Steam.
  • Price – pre-order the Collector Edition for $14.99 (25% discount).
  • About – Armed with a splattering cannon, the hero launches an attack on the Inkorp paint factory to rescue his companions, the Splashers, and put an end to the malicious plans of its big boss: the infamous Le Docteur. Each color of his weapon offers special powers: stick to walls, bounce, attack enemies… it will be necessary to make good use of them to overcome the long and demanding levels which are full of ever more treacherous traps.

  • Game type – dark, samurai-centric, action RPG.
  • Release date – February 7 for PS4.

8. Sniper Elite 4

14. Night in the Woods

15. Psychonauts in the Rhombus of Ruin
  • Game type – adventure puzzle game. A standalone chapter of the Psychonauts saga, made from the ground up for VR.
  • Release date – February 21 for PlayStation VR.
  • About – Assume the role of Raz, an intrepid young psychic and now fully fledged member of the Psychonauts, an elite group of international psychic secret agents! You’ll see through Raz’s eyes in first person, using his various psychic powers to affect the world, and solve puzzles.

Rainbow Six Siege Free Weekend, For Honor Open Beta

Ubisoft is giving you yet another chance to try Rainbow Six Siege video game for free. From February 2 through February 5, the first-person tactical shooter is free to play on PC, Xbox One, and PS4. Instructions on how to join the free weekend are available here.

As mentioned above, For Honor launches on February 14. You could get the game then (pricing starts at $59.99), or you could try the game for free by taking part in the Open Beta, available from February 9 through February 12 for PC, Xbox One, and PS4.

"In the beta, you’ll be able to try out the new Elimination mode – a best-of-five series of four-on-four matches with no respawns – as well as the Dominion, Brawl, and Duel modes. You’ll also be able to continue the War of the Factions, giving you the chance to lead your chosen army to victory and claim rewards when the full game launches on February 14," explained Ubisoft.
