14 Times per Day: The Average Times Smartphone Users Check Facebook

According to a study conducted by analytics company IDC and sponsored by Facebook, smartphone users check the social network 14 times per day, on average.

How many times a day you take out your iPhone or your Android and access popular social network Facebook? Do you do it five times per day, or perhaps 10 times per day? If you do that, access Facebook on your smartphone 10 times per day and you think it is a bit too often, you need not sweat it – you are below average. You see, according to a recently released study, smartphone users access Facebook on their mobile devices 14 times per day, on average.

The aforementioned study is entitled Always Connected – How Smartphones and Social Keep US Engaged. It was conducted by IDC, sponsored by Facebook, and it was released to the public this Wednesday. You can check it out here.

By analyzing data collected over the course of 1 week in March from 7,446 iPhone and Android users in the U.S. between 18 and 44, the study uncovered that 70% of respondents use Facebook on their phones, 61% use it each day, 79% reach for their phones within 15 minutes of waking, about two and a half hours are spent on Facebook each day on average, and Facebook is accessed 14 times on average.
