Canary is designed from the ground up to provide FileMaker developers a clear and distinct view of what is available to their solution users via AppleScript. The AppleScript API is designed to provide FileMaker with an elaborate yet simple method of communication with other Macintosh programs for the purposes of exchanging program control and, more importantly, exchanging data.



In granting such access, users can determine several things about the state of the database as well as some additional intellectual property, including but not limited to, calculation field formulas.
