Magnum Opus Publisher Description
Apple hasn't always had an easy ride. The mid-nineties nearly killed the company, and not a month goes by without a smug, pessimistic analyst foretelling the company's death. Yet one thing has remained synonymous with Apple over it's tenure: the Macintosh. This is the product that has shaped Apple the most. Not the Apple I, or even the Lisa have had such a profound over Apple, let alone the world of computing. Whilst it may seem as though the Macintosh was launched only yesterday, twenty years is a long time. It's uncertain as to whether the Macintosh of tomorrow will be very similair to what we use now. But one thing is certain: it will probably be better.
Please join us in toasting the Macintosh to another glorious twenty years, and hopefully, many more after that..

Thunderbird 2.0.0.18, the Safer Mozilla Mail Client
The Mozilla team has certainly been busy this week, updating both the Firefox browser and the Thunderbird mail client: Firefox got the Fashion My Firefox app, and Thunderbird was updated to version 2.0.0.18 The update is meant to address some security issues with the application, but I am glad to report that none of them have been deemed critical (this is the highest risk rating that Mozilla gives a security vulnerability)....

Lengthy Boot Time Vista Issues Taken to Court
The interesting thing is that it is not Microsoft that is in trouble, but the companies that use the Windows Vista operating system on their employees’ machines. It turns out that the employees of said companies spend prolonged amounts of time just waiting for the OS to boot and shut down; this has lead them to ask for overtime; when the companies refused to pay for overtime, the employees sued....

Moonlight Beta, the Microsoft Flash equivalent for Linux users
Microsoft is really not taking it easy at all on Adobe and their Flash player. Proof of that are the recent announcements that 2009 will debut with a third installment of Silverlight, and that Microsoft will continue its collaboration with Novell in order to further develop an open-source Silverlight equivalent that can be used by users running the Firefox browser on their Linux powered machines....

Silverlight 3, the Future of Flash Extermination
The final version of Silverlight 2, or the Flash killer as some like to call it, was made available to the general public a little over a month ago, on the 14th of October to be more precise. Microsoft is now planning another Silverlight release, Silverlight 3, which is due to come out some time next year....
