CandyBar Publisher Description

CandyBar allows you to customize the icons found in the toolbars of the Mac OS X Finder. But CandyBar doesn't stop there, oh no. CandyBar also lets you customize folders, clipping icons, locations and even the OS X Trash icon!

CandyBar greatest feature is support for iContainers. iContainers are a new way to package and distribute icons, developed jointly by Panic and The Iconfactory. iContainers are, in essence, a large group of icons packaged into one handy container - a single file. As they apply to CandyBar, iContainers allow users to import and export entire CandyBar icon sets in one fell swoop. Users can send their favorite icon settings to friends as a simple e-mail attachment, and can download entire collections from the Internet with a single click. Icon authors can also embed vital information into iContainers such as their name and e-mail address, ensuring full credit of their custom distributed icons.

CandyBar is the first product to support iContainers on Mac OS X but, thanks to a simple open format that Panic plans to publish in the future, it will be easy for many icon-related applications to hop on the iContainer bandwagon.
