When it comes to online search, Mountain View-based company Google holds the lion’s share of the market. This is because Google Search can help you find anything on the web with ease. There are other search engines out there, but none have managed to surpass Google’s popularity. Wolfram Alpha is not exactly a search engine, it is a computational knowledge engine. It prides itself on being able to “accept completely free-form input, and to serve as a knowledge engine that generates powerful results and presents them with maximum clarity.”

If you are a Firefox user you could combine the functionality provided by Google with the one provided by Wolfram Alpha. Thanks to a Firefox add-on called Wolfram Alpha Google you can replace the white space in the right hand side of the Google search results window with results from Wolfram Alpha. Just check out the images at the bottom to see how it will look.
